Want to know how to get more email subscribers to your email list?
When we talk about blogging, online marketing, affiliate marketing or any other type of online business that might come to your mind, we are also talking about an email list.
-That’s not rocket science, right?
This is a mistake I’ve made myself, when I first started this blog by December 2016. I’ve learned many lessons like this in my blogging journey so far, but I don’t want you to do the same.
That’s the reason why today I’m going to share with you a little bit of my experience with this blog so far, some of the milestones I’ve been able to reach and also a very important lesson about choosing the right tools.
-Ok, so let’s get started…
I didn’t start building my email list from the very beginning. But that’s fine, mistakes are always good, as long as you learn from them, keep that always in mind.Mistakes are always good, as long as you learn from them, keep that always in mind!Click To Tweet
So, when I finally started to work on my email list, my blog was getting around 1,500 monthly unique visitors. I don’t publish new content very often, but I like to spend time on promoting my content so that at least my content is being read by someone.
I started building my email list with MailChimp because they give you a Free plan for as long as you have less than 2000 contacts. I was also using Bloom to create some nice looking signup forms. The forms look very nice, no complaints about that.
Here’s the problem I had… I was only converting 1.1% of my monthly visitors into email subscribers.
So I tried different locations for the signup forms, I tried different designs, and I also started to offer some kind of lead magnet for the very first time.
That actually helped, now I was converting 1.5% of my monthly visitors into email subscribers.
Then I realized I needed to find out how to get more email subscribers, and I started looking for some other options.
That’s when I started to use Optinmonster. I was very surprised when I saw that I was converting almost 5% of all my new visitors into email subscribers. This means that for every 100 visitors I get at least 5 new email subscribers.
Let me show you how I was able to increase my email conversion rate by 200% using Optinmonster.

How to Get More Email Subscribers with Optinmoster: 200% Increase
Optinmonster is a lead generation tool that helps you convert your existing visitors into email subscribers. This software was initially launched in 2013 and it has really grown a lot in just a couple of years.
The reason why it has become so successful when it comes to helping businesses get more email subscribers is that they implement a unique technology known as “Exit Intent“, which basically detects when a visitor is about to leave your site so that you can convert abandoning users into email subscribers.
Optinmonster offers a large variety of different signup forms that you can use on your blog or website in order to convert visitors into email subscribers, and the best part of it, it doesn’t require any coding skills.
You can simply create a Pop-up Email subscription form within just a few minutes. All you need to do is select the design you like, make changes such as text, color, and you’ll have a high converting signup form ready in just minutes.
Check out the following video to see how easy it really is:
Optinmonster also allows you to create multiple variations of same Optin form and make small adjustments such as “text”, “color”, “background image”, etc so that their plugin performs A/B testing for you. After running the A/B test for several days, you can select the one that generates the most email subscribers.
They also offer integration options for all popular email services (MailChimp, Aweber, Get Response, MailerLite, etc).

Now, let’s take a look at what I’ve done in order to get more email subscribers and an average conversion rate of 4.59%.
1. Find out which are the highest converting sign up Forms
In an effort to find out which were the best signup forms that I could use on my blog in order to get more email subscribers, I performed different tests with different types of signup forms and also different locations, I also used different blogs for the test so that I can look at the results in a faster manner.
Here’s what I found:
-What do yaa think?
2. Implement the type of forms that perform best
As you can see, content upgrades were the one with the highest conversion rate but it’s also the one that gets least impressions, due to the fact that not all pages have a content upgrade form.
Here’s how my content upgrades look:
Optinmonster makes it really easy to use this type of forms with what they call “Monster Links”, you can simply insert this link when you want to use a content upgrade, once the visitors click on the link they will see a signup form.
The full screen with Exit Intent was second best performing type of form, with a conversion rate of 4.59%, this is actually the form that gets me the highest number of subscribers since it really does well at converting those visitors who are about to leave without taking any action.
Here’s how it looks on my blog:
Here’s how it looks:
I also implement other types of forms, like the sidebar and floating bar, but since I said I was going to show you how to get more email subscribers like I do with Optinmonster, those three I mentioned above are actually my secret recipe.

Pricing of OptinMonster:
Any time I recommend any product, pricing is always a huge criteria for me since I know sometimes we just don’t have a huge budget.
The basic license cost only $49/year, but I would really recommend to chose the Pro License which is the only one that allows you to have access to all their best feature such as Exit Intent and you can also use it on as many sites as you want.
Here’s a quick look at the pricing table:
Like I said before, I would highly suggest picking up a Pro license since it comes with all existing and future add-ons. If you really understand how important your email list really is then you’re not going to find $199/year to be too expensive, if you do, then you’re really not setting yourself up for big earnings with your online business.
